About
Photography for me goes beyond an interest or a hobby. I started out obsessed with the technology behind the latest digital cameras (still am!), but from the first moments after I got my first digital SLR in March of 2007, I was hooked.
Photography allows me the opportunity to see the world in different ways. Our eyes function in a very different way than our eyes; angles, depth of field, light direction, camera settings⦠they all work to show something different and unique to what we simply see with our eyes. Through photographs, we are able to explore scenes in a still moment, in a fraction of a second; they allow is to view all the little things we miss when those moments fly past.
I endeavor to always broaden my photographic vision. My first and foremost passion is for photojournalism. Every day, events happen all across the globe and right in our back yards. Everyone has a story, whether they live in rural India or urban Chicago. Journalists also have the responsibility to keep our government and leaders of other nations in check, to inform the people of what happens behind closed and open doors.
These are my illuminations.
