illuminations and ruminations from one Kevin D. Sherman

Got to shoot some golf today! Especially on a day like today, it’s a lot of fun to cruise around a golf course in a cart, taking in the sights and taking some pictures. This was a little tougher of an assignment, as I had to get coverage for three papers and I took too many pictures (ha! what else is new :P ).

Moved offices at my full-time job and I now have my own office! Pretty cool, but I need to figure out some cool ways to decorate and fill the space. Everyone else in the office seems full of ideas, interior decoration is not my thing :P . Till next time!

Today’s title is from the new Coldplay song “Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall”. This song is best listened to while driving with the windows open!

Fair warning, 67 photos! Had a hard time picking fewer :P

This past Sunday I had the honor of being the photographer at my friends Kat and Chris Ammann. I (literally) work very closely with Kat at Judson, it’s been a blast to hear her planning the wedding, getting to know her and seeing her love for Chris. I’m super excited for you guys as you start your life together. Rock on!

Also, a lot of the detail pieces in this wedding were handmade by Kat herself, such as the bouquet, boutineers, veil, the book the rings were in, confetti, table center pieces, “thank you” tags on the take home favors and probably a few others I am forgetting. Check out her work: http://thecheshirekat.blogspot.com/

Today’s title was taken from the song “Lover’s Waltz” by A. A. Bondy.

Taking it Easy

Lots of changes coming at work. Mostly good. I don’t fear change, but if I don’t understand what’s coming, I can become skeptical. Couple that was the condition of the economy, mostly lame candidates in the 2012 GOP primary (I love politics!) and that can add up to a lot of uncertainty.

This guy helps run a bed and breakfast tucked in Geneva of 38. I wonder what it’s like to get to that age where you’ve seen it all and finally get to relax and run a B&B.

So stay classy, kick back and take it easy once in a while. Also, shooting at f1.4 allowed me to shoot at ISO800 instead of ISO3200. Time for primes. But need money. Someday!

PS – This is an image from a wedding a shot a few weeks ago. Working on editing, should have a post up soon!

Had a blast at the wedding of Chris and Amber Weed at Purdue in Indiana. Robb and I drove up the day before. It was super hot during the day for the wedding, the bridal party was sweating pretty bad during the ceremony and when we walked around taking pictures on campus.

Thanks for watching! Was editing while watching Avatar for the first time in 2D (saw it twice in 3D). Great visuals, though if you watch the 2D version up close, it looks a little goofy. Couple more posts coming soon! Look out for pictures from Ignite Fest and another wedding.

Peace!

Today’s title was taken from some of Hanson’s newer work (Stand Up Stand Up EP). Yes that Hanson. Yes, you should be listening to them RIGHT NOW.
